Are you a developer?
Have you done business in the City of North Miami?
Street allegations say that when a developer wants to do business in The City of North Miami, they better get their wallet out.
Want to build something?
Better make a donation to the Councilmember’s re-election PAC. Better hire some friends and/or family of the elected! Better pay for some tables, sponsorships and slush funds!

Some wise people have speculated that if the corruption (allegedly) didn’t exist, developers could theoretically increase their contribution to community benefits like sewer and pipe replacement, infrastructure improvements and fair local hiring. Perhaps if they didn’t have to dedicate tens of thousands of dollars to pet projects, re-election PAC’s, campaigns, special irrelevant events and causes, then an honest conversation could be had between development and community stakeholders.
Instead of acting as representatives to the people who pay and elect them, word on the street is that some of the council elected act more like middle man grifting off the developers as though they are their personal ATMS.
Allegedly, of course.
